hot touchpad

I have a Vaio VGN-A517B
i was using it yesterday and i could notice that the temperature of the touchpad... could get very high..

is it normal?

is it true that if i use it plugged at the power supply i should remove first the battery? or it will burn out?

That's been debated a lot here, and the concensius is it doesn't matter. It certainly won't burn out
