how can i get my audio working again

my sony viao computer windows 7OS  home premium,i have an x over the audio in task bar,it says no audio output audio device installed.in device manager no realtek in control panel there is realtek. i have been battling this for days now with different troublshooting methods,finally i had to do a system recovery and still the same no out put device.i uninstalled the realtek from control panel downloaded it again from sony sites and still not working.can someone tell me what to do.please i need help.

Hi phil.ice,

If by ‘System Recovery’ you mean that you have returned you system to as delivered using either Vaio Care or the F10 at boot method and the audio still doesn’t work then this would seem to be a hardware problem. As you have not given us your model number it is difficult to advise further on the procedure.
