How can I know my product code and serial number

Hi,

My laptop is broken, but I can't find my product code and serial number. The documents along the laptop disappeared, so did the label glued to the bottom of the machine. Does anybody here know other methods to find the numbers?

Applicable to all VAIO notebooks
In the BIOS:

(Re)start your VAIO.
Press F2 repeatedly when you see the Sony logo.
You should see the serial number in the Main section.
Applicable to all VAIO VGN-Notebooks and VGC-Desktops
In VAIO Control Center:

Click Start.
Click All Programs.
Browse to and click VAIO Control Center.
Browse the VAIO Control Center for System Information and double-click it.
A new window System Information is opened. You should see the serial number in the Product Information section.

Thanks, but my laptop cannot be started at all. what can I do?

you could try contacting Sony Vaio support by email, use the following link to find the contact details: Sony Vaio Support

You'll probably have to give them as much information as possible ie Vaio model number, name and address that you used to register etc..
