How do I disable the touchpad?

I would like to disable the touchpad since it interferes with my typing. How do I do this?

Hi Termite05 and welcome to the forum.

This depends on your model but click Start > All Programs and open Sony Notebook Setup or Sony Notebook Control (or something similar) > on the touchpad tab select ‘disable touchpad’.

Hi Termite05

Welcome to Club Vaio..:smileyhappy:

In the mouse properties (found in Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Mouse) you may have an option to turn off the touchpad whilst typing and also increase the delay after the last key is pressed...

Hi seedkeeper,

Do you have Sony Notebook Control/Setup listed in Start > All Programs – If so is there a Touchpad tab?

If not have a look in Device Manager under Mice and other pointing devices – do you have a PS/2 pointing device listed or a PS/2 mouse? If a PS/2 mouse then you need to update the driver – come back for further instructions on this.
