How do I fully depleat my battery?

First of; is "depleat" spelled correct?

And then;
It is recommended you fully unload your battery once in a while. But, how do I do that safely? (for windows and so) I mean, you will have to shut-down windows when you have litte power left....so how do you get your battery on 0%?

Thanks:smileywink:

you could insert some bootable CD like the windowsXP installation CD or enter BIOS before booting and wait (not sure whether the PC can be harmed when being shut down in BIOS so better do the bootable-CD thing ^^)

btw ur english sounds quite german ^^ i think so coz im from austria;

You can also left your PC in stand-by mode. I think there wouldn't be much problems for your PC once battery is depleated in this way. Sure it will takes much more time to consum the rest of batt. power.

Hi Robin and welcome to the Club.

I don't think I would deplete your battery to a completely flat state - you could damage the battery.

I would go into Power Options and under Running on Battery, change the settings for 10% to "Do Nothing" and 5% to "Standby".

When the system goes into Standby just plug in the power adapter and recharge.

Don't forget to change the settings back!!

You could just run the laptop until the final few %, shut down and leave it overnight
