How Many Dead Pixels?

Hi!

My Vaio notebook is onr week old. I have one dead pixel, appeard couple of days after i got the computer. Hopfully all the other will live for a long time

Hi & welcome. A dead pixel's not too bad if it's in one of the top corners, but would be nasty if it was in the middle of your screen!

Does the warranty cover it? How many dead pixels does it have to exist before the warranty cover it?

Unfortunatley 1 dead pixel doesn't count ...even though in most people's view that dead pixel means that there's a defect. You would need to have 6 or more before the warranty would take care of it as far as I know. Different companies have different policies, so don't quote me on the amount, but I think 6 is the min needed for a repair.

The shop I bought it from tested the rig extensively before handing it over te me with a 8day-warranty to that.
I warned my brother NOT to buy those crappy medion "notebooks" but he did, guess what is in the middle of his screen? :smileygrin: :smileygrin: (soon it will be gone for the 3th to be repaired, I am so glad to have a Sony) 


Interesting point Oxigun, we hear a fair bit about Sony machines going wrong through this forum and it's easy to forget that, all said and done, they are pretty good - but then why else would such a distinguished group of individuals (that's us by the way  :smileygrin: ) buy them  

Yeah Dave's right - people complain here about VAIOs and their builds, glad to see someone is getting a good deal, and having fun with their VAIO.
