How to connect my Sony Z1SP to my TV?

Hi,

Is it possible to connect my Sony Z1SP to my TV, so I can watch DVD's on the big screen?

If so, what cable do I need to buy and where can I buy it?

Greetings from Denmark

Check this site out for information on VGA to TV information http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/vga2tv/

Here is another product that might help you http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage_n.asp?Product_ID=1481&Langue_ID=2

Also try this product it is discontinued but you might be able to get it second hand. http://www.margi.com/products/prod_dvd_dtg.htm

Hope this helps

The Z1 has an AV out socket doesn't it? If so then all you need is the correct cable - a seach on Vaio-link for AV Cable will show you the details.

You can buy a lead that will cost about £3 - £4.

This plugs into your SVideo (yellow) jack and the other end to you TV or DVD

HI again I am fairly sure that your Z1 doesnt have a TV out. So you will have to look for a USB or PCMCIA device.

The cable that you have shown there shanepower is only for audio out to a HIFI or TV.

The Z1 only has Monitor, firewire, USB and PC card outputs (as well as LAN and modem points).

Bit naff on a 'flagship' notebook though

It is good at what it does...looking pretty on my desk.

My old X9 was the flagship model.....and that did not have a printer port (unless you attached the docking station).

The Z1 is a lightweight model, weighing only 2kg, has 4 hours of battery life (yes, it is possible !!) and is ideal for a travelling chap like me. USB, LAN and Modem ports are sufficient and the Memory stick slot for downloading photos off my camera.

I always wonder about people who spend a fortune on a "desktop replacements"....just buy a desktop computer for a third of the price !! Having looked at some of the models in PC world, you will soon be able to buy a laptop which has legs so that it is a "desk replacement" as well

Look at this Sony LUG-top...7.5kg (and a 30 minute battery life)
