How to Disable Microphone?

I want to disable my microphone.. I mean i want to plug off my build in mic.

For example, when i open a voice conversation with skype or msn , i dont want my partner to hear me.. how can i disable my build in microphone?

You can disable your mic in the master volume settings, click on the speaker icon in your system tray, then click options properties and select Recording, ensure the Mic is checked and press OK, then click the mute box below the the mic volume..
