How to get my Hdmi cable to work on my labtop to my T.V

Can anybody help me i have a Sony Vaio Vgn TT1 labtop and i am trying to connect it up with my Sony Bravia T.V. My labtop makes a sound that its connected to the T.V but i dont get any picture on my T.V just a blank screen can anybody help please

You have to select your Bravia as an output. With the Bravia connected to the computer. Go to Control Panel / Display / Display Settings.

If still a no go, try selecting HDMI on your TV as an input. Not sure on where to look for this tho.

Try to see if there is an option to in selecting HDMI as an input in your Bravia.

In addition to the above have you tried pressing Fn+F7 to toggle the display between Laptop/External Display/Both?
