I have the solution to this
Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Sony\MyClubVAIO\MyClubVAIO.exe and delete the offending programme. Then delete the folder if you wish.
There is also a shortcut in C:\Program Files\Sony\MyClubVAIO which you may delete to remove traces.
Hope this helps everyone get rid of the annoyance.

Alternatively you should be able to stop My Club Vaio.exe from starting if you go to start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks..
Then dis enable the MCV entry..

Depending on your Vaio model Sony has also recently released a Startup fix for My Club VAIO, check out the download section for your Vaio here.
