installation of win xp on A317M any precautions?

the a317m comes with XP home (SP2) ...personally i prefer like to install XP pro (multi-language pack) with SP1. other than puting the XP cd and upgrading. is there there anything else that needs doing before or after the upgrade.

also the software bundle from vaio (incl. adobe), can it be incorporated in to XP pro.
