Internal microphone affects sound recorder

Can I prevent the internal microphone on VPVJ11 picking up room sounds and mouse clicks and mixing with browser sound recording eg radio recording using Free Sound Recorder in Firefox 6?

Hi Hacksaw_Harney,

As far as I am aware recording from the sound card (audio chip) is not possible on Vaio machines running either Vista or Windows 7. This was an option under XP using ‘Record what you hear’ or ‘stereo mix’.

I therefore assume that recording using Free Sound Recorder in Firefox 6 is utilising the microphone and therefore you will be unable to eliminate any peripheral sound.

Thanks for the reply - which is the same conclusion I reached.

However - using Freecorder in IE8 on the same VPCJ11 with Win7, I can record from internet radio with no recording mouse clicks or room sounds. Freecorder is not compatible with Firefox 6.

So - it's also a software issue. Much as I don't like IE, that seems to be the best way to go at present. I just won't be grabbing anything from internet radio on the fly, just using IE for scheduled recordings.

Thanks for help
