I have a pvc rx401 i want to play with it (like other os)
what kind of celeron is the processor ?
I think it must be a Intel Celeron 4.
2000MHz
400MHz FSB
etc.
Check that with Everest Home Edition. I don't whether this board support a Pentium 4. I think Everest could give you more information.
But I think a RAM upgrade would be better. A new graphics card could be a good idea too. Maybe a card like the GeForce FX5200. I wouldn't use a Midrange or Highend Graphics card. Because you could get problems with the AC power supply.
LOL, that's only the half information.:smileytongue:
I thought Celeron was just Celeron, nothing to do with P4?
There's a Celeron 2 now isn't there?
I know they're a different class of CPU
LOL, both are from Intel.
The thing is, a Celeron is a Pentium with less specs. But it's the same base. The newest Celeron has for example no HT technology and a smaller level 2 Cache.
AMD is much more confusion at the moment.
The AMD64 Semptron for example is the replacement for the AMD Duron. And the Semptron is a real 32Bit CPU and not a 64Bit CPU.
And the Semptron(Thoroubred-B) for base A, is the Semptron(Paris) for base 754.
Ahhh I see
thx seb21
DL-ed Everest Home Edition, it gave me the info i needed,
looks like P4 i shall put it in my CFLAGS, see what's gonna happen
But try an older P4. Maybe a Northwood with 533Mhz FSB. I think not that your board supports HT technologie.
The fastest Celeron which you could use, is a Celeron with 2,8GHz. They run all with the same specifications and Core voltage. They should be work. But a better fan would be a good idea then.
