Is u r vaio perfect?? Is it worth the money u pay?? Look 4 these and decide...

I am a vaio user 4 the past 2 months.. I bought a s4xp and had to change it due to itz poor performance.. I changed it to FS215Z which I am having now for the past 2 months... here r the problems that i found on my vaio...check whether u guys are having these troubles...

1) when playing mp3 in your windows media player try maximizing the visualization (alt+enter)
i am experiencing delay as well as a jittering in my audio stream output (contacted Sony support got the regular reply " its normal" but i know its not  ) it is not there with my old Acer 291 LMI nor my Toshiba M-40)

2) when trying to copy data from my CD or Memory stick ( using built in pro reader) the whole system becomes very slow..... Have to wait for ages to load a program or open my computer along with coping also not common....

3) wireless connection is not at all stable on my VAIO.......

4) after paying a premium price i have got 2700 / 333 RAMs and a stupid 4500 rpm hard disk ( the Sony sales guy who sold me my vaio at PCWORLD told me the other way 3200/ 5500rpm .... i asked specifically for that while buying it....)

5) No S video out .....( again the Misleading Sales Representative )

6) i have installed a 5 in 1 card reader in my PCMCIA slot ..... but don’t even dream of using u r computer for another purpose while using the card reader....( not the fault of the reader cross checked it on my other systems)

Check for these problems in your vaio and reply

Regds and cheers...
  :anguished: :slight_frown:  :triumph: :smileyfrustrated:

1)....it's not normal. I don't have this problem on my nearly 3 years old VAIO.

2)....my experience with MemoryStickPro is that you can writing files in nearly the half of time. Compared to a normal MemoryStick. But the read-time is still the same. And if you copy files from CD onto harddisk, then your harddisk is busy. Big files encreasing hdd usage and slowdown other tasks. Many small files encreasing CPU usage. This is normal, and happend to all Computer Systems. More or less.

3)....what means not at all?

4)....4200RPM aren't stupid. I have a harddisk like these in my VAIO and it isn't slower campared to few cheap 5200RPM disks. Anyway, if the guy says it has a 5400RPM disk and DDR400 RAM then it's your right to get this. BTW, take a look at the manufacturer site before you buy any hardware. The you find all hardware information and they are true.
And what means Premium price? Premium labtops still starting at 2000€. It's because they use newest hardware and no old standards. Like 4200RPM disks and DDR333. You can't suck speed out of your Fingernails. And no PC will run without Software. Software is copyable. But if you buy a OEM PC, then you buy also Software.

5)....just take a look at the features before you buy any. Buying with blue eyes is your own fault. I know that too good.

6)....It has to work. PCMCIA is an international standard. If it doesn't work then it's faulty. If Sony Support Team says the hardware is incompatible then it's wrong. It have to be compatible.

and no, my VIAO isn't perfect. It would, but the cooling is a pain for my ears. I have learned to ignore this. But it sucks.

I agree with Seb, they're not perfect, but nothing on earth is....

1) no problems on the GRX, 3 years old now

2) No probs either, often do this for my MP3 player.

3)

4) I think they should be fitting 7200RPM drives now, they're low energy units now....

5) Always double check specs
