it won't work????????? vaio model VGN-N21S/W

hi all, went on me hols last week, when i come back vaio wouldn't fire up!!!!!! even when plugged into mains, the four lights at front well the left one lights up(is this the on light) and when you hold down the start button the battery light shows yellow but only when held down, can anyone help. do i need a new battery,

Have you tried removing the battery and anything else connected to your Vaio, then try starting your Vaio again..
