hi, there, my laptop has developed a bit of a problem, where it appears the k key sticks. When operating the k key streams when the entry field is opened, and occasionally the key doesnt work. When booting the bios is very slow to run so I updated the bios,to eliminate a bios virus, and tested rebooted holding down the k, resulting in the bios booting slowly. The strange thing is that the problem is very intermittant, and sending the computer in would probably result in the engineers testing and not finding the problem (murphys law). My question is would this be hardware related, possibly a loose connection? because this problem is intermittant, what actions would be best to get a resoultion?
cheers
You might want to get some compressed air from Maplins and try to shoot under the key
If that doesn't work you might find that the contacts are under a silicone dome beneath the key which is glued to the keyboard PCB.
My resolution was to buy a new keyboard.:smileycry:
if it wasnt a laptop i would definiately follow that suggestion. 🙂
