just a general question...does anyone know how long a laptop battery last for without having its power adaptor attached to the laptop whilst working? its just that mine dies after 10 minutes and i always have to have the power adaptor on so that my laptop wont just shut down.

After some research on internet (google), I am afraid to say that this time (10 minutes) based on comments over the internet by others FZ 11Z owners is correct.

I would like to suggest for you to buy a new battery 'cause I found several references saying that the second battery work very well.

My FZ21Z has an appalling battery life, its the only thing I regret not checking when I purchased . It's a bit better under windows 7 but I get twenty five minutes at most now!

The prices do look attractive. There is no postal address and the only reference to an address I could find online is from Imperial College London saying that a company called Smart Bright has been reported to the police for using the college's address without permission. Can anyone confirm if this is a legitimate company?

The batteries are also Compatible not Sony branded batteries..
