Laptop not recognising Audio CD's

Hi all, hope someone can help me with this as I'm finding no luck elsewhere.

Bought my VAIO back in October/November (VPCEE3Z0E model), and have been trying to import my music from CD's onto the laptop. However, when I put the CD in the disk drive, WMP won't play the file and along with My Computer goes completely un-responsive until I remove the CD.

Anyone experience the same problem or able to point me in the right direction to fix this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Does the drive and WMP read other discs like DVDs?

Does the DVD/CD-ROM drive show up in 'Computer'?

Are there any yellow warning ! icons against the DVD/CD-Rom drive in Device Manager?

The drive reads my Blu-ray discs fine, though I haven't tested a standard DVD in WMP yet.

The drive shows up in 'Computer', but the second I try to explore/open the drive then My Computer goes un-responsive.

There does not appear to be any yellow warning icons in Device Manager.

I think you need to contact Vaio Support.

If it works for one sort of disc and not another and there are no errors in Device Manager then it is likely you need a repair.
