Left-Click Button unresponsive on Sony VAIO VGN-AR71S

Hi,

For the past 3 days I've noticed the Left-Click button on my Sony VAIO VGN-AR71S is starting to become unresponsive, at first I just though it was slow when I had several large applications running at once, but when I took my laptop into work the next day (yesterday) I noticed that it was almost every other click that wasn't being registered.

I tried changing the TouchPad settings to "Left-Handed" to see if it definitely was the Left Button, and it was, the Right-Click Menu was appearing on roughly every other click.

I've only had the Laptop for about 2 and a half months.

Any ideas on what I should do, or is there anything I may have missed?

Hi Mittel and welcome to Club Vaio.

I think it is time to phone Sony for a repair. It is possible some dirt has got into the mechanism but it will need a repair to fix it.

Give them a ring on Monday.
