Hey all,
My left shift key of my vaio notebook aint working correct, it makes big letters, it enables sticky keys but it aint working when i press the shift key and one of the arrow keys to select text..
I can't seem to find the sony vaio vgn drivers for the keyboard..
The end key doesnt do anything, further, everything works.. anyone knows the problem or where to find latest drivers?
Hi Oempa and welcome.
There are no Sony drivers for the keyboard as it uses standard Windows system drivers.
Have you checked your settings in Control Panel -> Ease of Access Center -> Keyboard?
The funny thing is, i can make bigger letters, i can use it with the sticky buttons function but i can't select text.. it should be a setting somewhere.. arrgghh so frustrated
And i can't find anything in those options that could be usefull..
Which Vaio model do you have?
Sony Vaio NW21EF
In safe mode it still does not work, if i connect a external keyboard everything works.. how can it be a hardware failure if the shift key does everything except that function?
I was hoping that you had a model with a separate keypad and that it was a Num Lk problem.
However, just out of interest, try both Num Lk on and off to see whether that makes any difference.
Nope.. no changes.. can it be a register problem?
Hmmm, I must admit that I am stumped!
A Registry problem would normally only effect individual programmes. I assume that this is happening in all situations including trying to highlight text on this forum?
Yup, everywhere i go it doesnt work..
I am this close to just send the thing back and let them check the hardware.. but it sounds as a stupid software fault.. i am stumped to 😞
Hi Oempa,
I suggest that you contact Support and explain the problem and the trouble shooting that you have already carried out.
Hopefully they may know of a solution but my guess is that they will ask that you carry out a complete system restore (back to factory settings) before considering a collection...
