linux wont boot on my vaio

hi, i have a problem running linux on my vaio FS115M.
first i tried installing Mandrake 10.1, but the first time i ran it, it freezed while autodetecting devices..
Then i tried to run Knoppix 3.2 live cd and it freezed as well while autodetecting devices.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Hmm, no idea, but Debian seems to be the choice for Linux users.

VAIO-Link definately won't help because they don't know about Linux
