When I try and install Windows XP Pro on my LM2E VAIO the install tells me that it cannot identify a hard drive on my computer.
If I press F6 during the install to install a 3rd party disk driver it then tells me I can´t because the PC does not have a floppy drive!!
Obviously the hard drive is there!!
How do I get round this problem?
Hi Derek and welcome to Club Vaio.
You either buy a cheap USB floppy drive for a few pounds and install the SATA drivers from this floppy using F6 or you make a slipstreamed installation disc using nLite where all the drivers are slipstreamed into the XP installation.
Google for nLite

Hmmm.....
Slipstreamed the disk controller drivers into the XP install but it still doesn´t work.
I will see if I can work out what I have done wrong!!
Which SATA drivers are you using?
It should be SATA Driver Intel Non-RAID 7.0A-7.0.0.1020
It is attached below: -
