The FR415S is listed as being able to support up to 1Gb Ram but ships with 512Mb. You will need to check the laptop physically to see if you have 1 x 512Mb or 2 x 256Mb installed. If the latter you will have to buy 2 x 512Mb sticks but can possibly sell the 256Mb sticks (on EBay?).

The memory is usually easily accessible. Turn the laptop over and you should see a screw holding down a cover. Undo this and you should see the ram(s).

And check out www.crucial.com/uk for your memory - their prices are very reasonable and their customer support is excellent.

You should make sure that the memory you are installing is the same spec as the existing memory and that your motherboard can support the total amount installed.

just following on.. the crucial site has a link to a utility that can check to see what memory config you have (e.g. 2x256 etc). Having said that, they still don't have my grt715 on the list of laptops!
