missing functions in windvd5.0 Sony vaioe vgna 297 XP

I can not use the slider in de control box to move through the movie. The button is ther but very blurry

Hi

The slider doesn't work the way it does on other players. You have to put your cursor over the left-hand wheel and click and drag it upwards to fast forward. Not ideal I know.

Is this happening with all movies or just some that are stored on your hard disk? I use WinDVD 6 and occasionally the slider is ghosted with Windows Media Audio/Video files but not DVD¿s played from the DVD drive. I have a feeling that it is more to do with the rendering of the file than the player.
BTW Twisted-Rizla WinDVD 6 has a standard slider progress bar. I have never used 5, but that sounds weird!

ASF and WVM have a feature to stop you fast forwarding too

ASF and WMV are Windows Media Video codecs.

I would try removing the program in control panel > add/remove programs and then re-install. I am not sure that this will cure your problem, but it is worth a go.
