Motherboard upgrade

motherboard upgrade, am I insane?
Few days ago the Vaio's expert pool answered me that I cannot upgrade my graphyc card in order to get the notebook ready to Vista, bacause the card is united with the motherboard.
So I ask myself if is it possible to upgrade the motherboard itself.
I have this notebook VGN-A 517B
Thanks everybody
P.S. now my performance score under Vista is 3,6, not so bad apart with the games and with editing video software such as Sony Vegas. That's why I would like to enhance the motherboard performance .

Hi drscatiggio,

It would possibly be cheaper and make more sense to buy a new notebook. Motherboard replacement on a Sony notebook is mega bucks :slight_frown:

I search a new high performance Vista score above all. The budget could be up to 2000 €; I want a machine that let me work fine and safe with all video editing software (Vegas).
By the way, are new notebook model's Vista performance scores available by Sony? I saw now in many Pc magazines Vista scores are reported model by model, so the customer can judge the machine before purchasing it.
Thanks Rich
