My New Vaio

I bought my laptop 3 weeks ago, i have also the clicking disk sound (but i don't bother right now).. the problem with my vaio is the operating system...it's very unstable and i cannot install new software because i got the explorer.exe closing and restarting again.. only after a recovery the system behaves almost good...

The thing i'm trying to do is to install a new licenced OS probably MS Windows Pro because i'm running on Media but in the installation i got the message "No harddisk Found".. anyone bypass this and in what way?? i deleted all the partitions on the HD using Acronis and tryied that but no luck...

My system is a VGN-AR11B running on Windows Media Center...

This is my first post, we will have time to talk later on because now i'm heading to work.. Thanks for any replies..

The Purpose is,so that you can do Maintenance on your Hard Drive. Most Drives will allow you to change certain parameters so it will be more efficiant with your other Hardware. You can also check for Drive failure, bad sectors, reset Boot Mbr,Format ect ect.ie=I have just built a new Desktop, and with Hitashi's software,I was able to upgrade both my Hard Drives from Sata 1 to Sata 2.Thats an increase in Bandwidth from 1.5g to 3g.I also enabled the Smart Disk Monitoring and adjusted the Accoustic volume levels and other things.

Well my point was more "how can I solve this SATA problem" with that kind of software rather then "don't understand the purpose" (since I know what it's for).
Increasing bandwith etc it's not a priority before solving how to install another operative system.

You're right. Let's say you make an install CD (XP Pro + RAID Drivers)....you install XP Pro and after that? The real problems begin to appear. Am I wrong?
