HI GUYS
I HAVE PROBLEM WITH MY OLD VAIO AR11S. BASICLY NVIDIA CARD IS ALMOST DEAD. I HAVESOME STRIPES ON BOOT SCREEN, AND SCREEN GOES BLACK WHEN WINDOWS STARTING. IT WORKS ONLY IN SAFE MODE.WELL I LOOKED INTO INTERNET AND FOUND THIS

OK SO I CALLED THEM BUT WHAT I HEARD IS NOT WHAT READ.I'VE BEEN TOLD THERE'S PREPAID CHARGE OF 200£.AND THAN DEPANDING ON THE PROBLEM IT MAY RISE EVEN UP TO 700£ IF PROBLEM IS WITH MOTHERBOARD.WELL LAPTOP IS OFCOURSE NOT WORTH IT SO I ASKED CAN I GET MONEY BACK IF IT WOULD COST TOO MUCH AND BENN TOLD WILL GET JUST PART OF IT.
SO HOW IS IT, SONY SAYS THEY COVER PARTS AND LABOUR IF ITS GRAPHIC AND I'M SURE IT IS AS EVERYTHING ELSE WORKING FINE.ANYONE FACE THAT PROBLEM

IT WORKS ONLY IN SAFE MODE.
YES. WHEN I START IT IN SAFE MODE IT IS WORKING FINE, BUT AS YOU KNOW IT IS NOT THE SAME AS NORMAL START UP(WHEN SCROLLING MOUSE IT IS NOT SMOOTH, BUT AT LEAST IT WORKS).THE SAME IS IN VGA MODE BUT RESOLUTION IS VERY LOW AND CANNOT WORK WITH IT.I SEARCH INTERNET FOR HOURS AND EVERYBODY SAYS THE SAME,IF THERE ARE STRIPES ON START UP SCREEN IT MUST BE GRAPHIC.

Just to let You and everyone else know, Sony called me and to arrange pick up for my unit.After two days had called back and my laptop been ready to ship.In total it took 5 days to repair it( to be specific...to replace motherboard )So now with new mother board a can enjoy my vaio again.Thanks a lot :)))
