My VAIO VGN-A417S cannot read CD-Rom, CD audio, Original DVD

Hey Jpgubb, there could be a few different solutions to this one, check other posts on the forum as this is a regular problem.

Out of interest, can you burn cd's?

Thanks for your answer, I didn't try to burn CD since I've this problem... I'm new in this forum, can you tell me the best way to search a post related to my concern ?

Sure - just type in ' can't read cd' or something in to 'search' at the top of the page.
