My Vaio wont shutdown:(

I have a Vaio Fe21m with Xp proffesional sp2 on it. When I try to shutdown the computer from start meny it closes all programs and goes to goes to a bluescreen (kind of) where it says "Windows is shuting down" (in swedish). But then nothing happens. Have to switch the power off to get it shutdown. Plz help me. /zouzo

That does happen sometimes with XP,and on desktops too.I am not sure what is the cause,but I suspect it is something not responding when Windows is telling everything to shutdown.Therefore you get a hung system.This was commen on the Apple PowerMac G4,it turned out that some makes of USB 2 cards did not have a sleep mode,thus making the system always reboot.An external Card Reader can also cause it if left plugged in.The other problem was not waking up either until you powerd off and rebooted.I would definatly suspect something is not responding when it should.
