New BIOS update for Vaio SZ2XP is out (R0083N0) !

Hi all,

Has anyone tried the new BIOS update for SZ2XP yet?(R0083N0)

Following description is given at the Vaio-link site:

This BIOS Update fixes following issue :

This update improves processor management.

Above information is quite vague, what it exactly fixes is not mentioned at all. As a loyal Vaio user for more than 4 years and having less positive experience with earlier BIOS updates (at times, things got worse instead of getting better), I tend to be a bit sceptical on this update. Meanwhile, I am getting a bit annoyed about the fan noise which gets quite loud even with processor loads under %50, this update might help solve this issue. Or am I being too optimistic?

Shall I upgrade or not, this has been always difficult decision to make when it comes to BIOS updates.

I would appreciate any comments/recommendations on this subject.

Enzo,

I have installed the update as I was having problems with my system. Which on the whole seem to have been resolved. My notebook was running slower then the A115B it replaced. Now 10000% better.

I would not bother if your notebook is working ok though.
