No picture on TV

Hi
Ive got a Sony Vaio VGN-AR11M which ive connected to my Sharp LCD TV through the HDMI connector ive got sound but no picture just a black screen and saying 1080i and 60 hz so i guess the tv is picking up the signal? ive tried changing settings on the TV and laptop but no good ive even gone out and bought a dvd player with HMDI output to see if it was the TV or cable that were faulty but they are fine im hoping its just a setting on my laptop, please help someone

You may need to change the HDMI signal type in the HDMI setup menu of your TV.

The Nvidia controll panel provides several timing settings. You just have to pick the correct one to fit your TV.





And there is no audio signal on the HDMI cable. You need a separate audio cable to get sound.

Ok thanks i will try changing the settings in there but that was not in english what you showed me, and i have a GeForce Go 7600 card also i have got sound through the HDMI cable just no picture.

Ive tried to find these settings on my laptop but its a bit difficult since its in german and its not the same layout as mine. Please can anyone still help me?:smileycry:
