Noisy when watching dvds

The drive in my NR21Z spins at a ferocious pace when I'm watching dvds, totally ruining the experience for me. I have to crank the volume right up and even then it doesn't blot-out the noisy drive. When listening to cds it is relatively quiet. I find this whole laptop noisy, the hard drive and the fan but is there anything I can do about the noisy dvd drive?

If you use Nero there's an option to control the drive speed which would fix this.
I'm sure there are stand alone freeware apps which do the same, try google.

No problem, just remember though (it happened to me lol) when transfering stuff to your computer to turn the speed control OFF, otherwise you'll be wondering why is this bloody thing so slow.

If you don't have NERO you can download the Toshiba Acoustic Silencer utility from their website (free of charge). I can confirm that this slows the drive down too and works successfully. Result.
