Norton 360 Trial Expiry

Due to expire soon on my AR61e and I had already purchased Norton Internet Security 2008. What is the best way to install? Should I uninstall the 360 first? Reason I'm asking is that when I tried to install it when I got the notebook it didn't seem keen to install it with the 360 there.

Hi Jim,

I would think it best to uninstall Norton 360 if you had a problem earlier..

Here is Norton guide on the procedure..

1 Click Start > Control Panel.

2 Do one of the following depending on your operating system:

* In Windows Vista, click Uninstall a Program.
* In Windows XP, double-click Add or Remove Programs.

3 In the list of currently installed programs, click Norton 360 (Symantec Corporation), and then click Remove or Uninstall.

4 Click Remove All to confirm that you want to uninstall the product.

5 In the Subscription Period Warning, click Next.

6 Click Next.

7 Click Restart Windows Now (recommended).

Your Norton program is not fully uninstalled until you restart your computer.

8 Click Finish.

If you have a problem uninstalling Norton 360 then you can download and run the Norton Removal Tool, use the following link to download: the Norton Removal Tool ..

I am currently using Eset Smart Security, it's easy on resources, very effective and I recommend giving it a go.

A free 30-day full working trial is available here

It hasn't caused any problems at all on my FJ3 running XP.
