NVIDIA driver update

SONY Vaio VPCL11M1E

Trying to update my video card (NVIDIA GeForge G210M) driver using the latest one from Nvidia web, but the installation programm will not recognize the hardware. I was told that Sony is using different drivers to run the hardware inside their computers.

Is there any other way how to get my video card up to date!?

Thanks for help.

Peter

Hi Peter,

If it is possible  to install none a Sony driver update for your NVIDIA card you will need a modified .inf file.

I suggest that you have a look here and make sure to read the Quickstart Guide...

Downloaded both files install and inf, replaced inf file in the installation directory, but no hardware has been found again.

Does anybody know some other way how to do it?

Thanks

Hi Peter,

Did you enter the hardware ID for your graphics card in the search facility? It should be some like PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0649&SUBSYS_9040104D

Yours will be different.

You can obtain this ID by opening Device Manager, expand Display adaptors, right click on the NVIDIA card and click on the Details tab.

On the drop down menu under Properties select Hardware Ids.

If no modified .inf is available for you card on this site then I suggest that you try a Google.
