Fortunately, according to Nvidia website only Sony F Vaio series can use the drivers directly from Nvidia. I have downloaded the ones recommended by the Nvidia support team( 266.58 yesterday and today 285.62) as my driver was the original installed when I bought the laptop in March 2010. However, I discovered to nasty side effects so far. Firstly, the HMDI playback device located in Windows7/control panel/ hardware and sound/sound/playback, has gone only having the Speaker/HP and the Digital Output (optical). Finally, I cannnot use anymore the color mode setting located in Sony Vaio Control Center/Display/Color Mode setting as it states now ' Outputting to external display. The color mode setting is disabled'. But the laptop is not outputting anything to any external display. I used the color mode setting to change the color mode automatically to DVD/BD when playing Blu-rays or DVDs. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me. I am also contacting the Nvidia support team.
