I found out that one Core of the Intel Core 2 Duo in my notebook is deactivated.
There is no place in the bios or anywhere else to turn it on.
Does anybody know if this is by design or a fault?

I don't know much about these, but is it possible it is "activated" when needed? I wouldn't imagine they would put it in and not use it by design, that would just be pointless.
Well, as I have two other desktop-PC with Core 2 Duo I know where to look, and in Cpu-Z one can see there are two cores but only one is activated. Maybe this is to save power, maybe because the cpu would be getting to hot?
But I can not find any info about that anywhere and this should have been mentioned by sony.
A.
Are you using any power saving schemes?
Have you got the hardware switch set to Stamina or to Speed?
No, I do not use any power saving schemas. The main change when using one is anyway the reducing of the frequence to 1000.
And I have the switch set to speed. But that is only changing to another graficprocessor from nvidea.
As far as I know, there are mainboards where one can deactivate one core but there is nothing to change in the setting. I suppose it may be blocked because of the temperature?
Is anyone there who has the same brand and two cores are working?
