Hi scottie-dude,

welcome to Club VAIO..

What model VAIO do you have.?

This could be that the HDD may be damaged..

Check in the BIOS is your your HDD recognised.?

To enter the BIOS press f2 repeatedly when you see the Vaio logo..

Hi scottie-dude,

your HDD should be listed in in the BIOS in either the Main or Advanced menu..

Hi scottie-dude,

hmmm...

This could mean that your HDD is damaged, but not for definite.

The best thing to do is probably take it into your nearest Sony store and see what they say.
