Suddenly I've got problems with the DVD drive on my PCG-K315Z notebook. It's worked OK in the past but now music CDs are very jumpy, DVDs that I have created of home video footage are now temperamental and virtually unplayable but, amazingly, a CD containing mp3 files plays perfectly well!
I am aware that there have been problems with the DVD drives - does anyone know if Sony have sorted this out yet?
I have no idea
dust might cause the problem to your drive but if it reads CDs and dont read DVDs it might have a hardware problem. and i just sent my K415S to sony for Graphics Card repair and they say it might take to 1 month long...
I think you might be right about the dust. CDs have been playing fine and I've just tested out a DVD that I'd recorded home movies on and.........all is OK. Phew.
Mightily relieved I didn't go down the route of doing a system restore.
Not done a great deal for my confidence though! I keep expecting the thing to go wrong again.:smileysad:
