Optical mouse has gone mad!

hi can anyone help??

I've just got hold of a vaio (PCGA-UMS3) USB optical mouse for my vaio laptop, looking forward to finally using a mouse at last but the mouse pointer keeps jumping into the top left hand corner of the screen and behaving eratic, can someone please help with this problem!

Hmm odd.
Have you tried a different USB port?
Sounds to me like the device is malfunctioning.

yeh sounds dodgy..

make sure your touchpad is disabled cause otherwise u can easily skim across it making the mouse fly about..
similarly, make sure you have the latest drivers for the device

otherwise..start seaching for the receipt
