Hi
I'd like to hear your opinions from you all. I know the majorities are using Windows XP, Vista. But which one would you choose if you were given the choice between Mac OS X Leopard (the new released OS) or Vista/XP? To use it for your daily tasks, work, etc.
Honestly, i'm starting to lose my interest towards VAIO laptops and Windows-based PCs. A lot of complaints, software and hardware issues from VAIO. It's really started to bug me, we even pay the price they want, why can't Sony deliever the alleged quality and performance they promise??!! So stylish and so buggy at the same time.
Where is their "Be Like.No.Other"?
I'm really thinking to switch to Mac laptops. Now has a Boot Camp Software which can allow you to install another OS within Mac OS X - your choice Vista or XP. At least better than to have a single junky OS in one clunky machine.
Seriously, i don't know if i'm the only person who's feeling so with Sony.
Ehm, don't you know about VMware or Virtualbox?
I'm using it for 1 Windows application which I run on my Vaio - which has got an installed linux system 🙂
Virtualbox is for free:

PS: If you ask for native driver for Mac OS ... There is already a Linux thread in the English Notebook section.

Paralells on MacOS X 10.5 - the best route, plus you can run Ubuntu, XP and MacOS.
Computing doesn't get better than this.
Hello Hunch
Just passing by to say something about Apple. I should have considered switching way before buying a Vista based computer. The only thing that prevented me yet is the number of sofwares I bought that work on XP and don't on OSX. And I heard lately about boot camp...
Vista has totally randomized my life and feels like stepping back to 1999 when I was on ME. Poof! I was working on something and it vanished in the great nothingness. Without warning. Like this. Not fair. The new life randomizer -name it- Windows Vista is the best software in the world if you want to: loose your time, get angry, be fooled, loose your patience, ask yourself a lot of things -actually everything but the things that really matter- and don't ever think about the tiny little possibility of getting a name to contact for support, try to print something and your printer now is not "seen", as well as the other pcs on your network (you don't know when you'll meet them, sometimes they are there sometimes not you never know), and a lot of other things that I forgot like not recognizing the DVD I've just burned. But say WOW!! it's beautiful! WOW!! Aero!! Who gives a shet? Microsoft is on an unstoppable downhill slope. They just DON'T DELIVER. I pay, I pay, I pay, then what? no support, and a lot of problems that I don't have the place in the real world time to deal with. I actually have to work!! And the softwares actually have to do the same that's what I am paying for. I am getting more angry and annoyed everyday, and actually I know one thing, I became a real switcher. Cause peace of mind matters. I would have considered a new Vaio if it was possible to have it with OSX, but I know this is only a dream. This won't never happen. So be it.
I'm still happy with XP so I'll keep all my XP based pcs, but the next machines are definitely NOT going to be vista based ones. Worst experience ever and won't do it again. It is sad cause Vaio are the best laptops I know, but they are crippled by microsoft.
Voilà for this topic. No Microsoft. No more. And see what happens.
Cheers -
William
OMG don't mention ME, I still have nightmares about that OS
