Parts for PCG-FX701????

Hi Guys,

I have an old PCG-FX701. Amd 1400+ processor, 14.1" XGA Lcd, 256mb ram, blah blah!

I have a dark screen. The Backlight unit is definitely gone, maybe the inverter too. I am looking to buy these online somewhere but over here in Ireland this is proving difficult. Any ideas where to buy? What is an equivalent US model that would have the same parts?

The unit itself is fine and works with a regular CRT plugged into it, so its not the vid card either. I can see faint stuff on the LCD.

The LCD is now stripped and waiting for new parts

Hi Aidan, you hit the nail on the head in your reply on another thread.

Nexttronics is a good source of parts with worlwide shipping.

As to what the equivelant US model is? All I can suggest is you look through this list. You may find that the parts you require are common to a range of models.
