PCG 7M1D Windows 7 x64 Drivers

This Vaio was released with x86 build of Windows XP Home Edition and Professional Edition x86 and I have performed a fresh install of Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and have managed to find 99% of the drivers direct from the manufacturers yet the graphics driver doesn't seem to be available for the Intel Graphics chipset. I'm looking for a compatible driver for Mobile Intel 900 series Express driver for Windows 7 x64 or Vista x64 even. Can anyone help? Even an old Intel Graphics Accelerator installer to install over the top of the WDDM driver in Windows would be sufficient.

Hi Mohd.Abbas.Ali and welcome.

It would help us if you could quote the correct Vaio Model.  The PCG-7M1D is the chassis type and can be shared by many Vaio Models.  Look on the screen surround for the correct Vaio Model Name: -

If you actually meant to type PCG-7D1M then it is probably a VGN-FS315x.

However, if you have the Intel GMA900 graphics chip then there is a problem as Intel refused to support any graphics chips older than Intel 945 Express Chipset for Vista or Windows 7.  They said it was manufactured before WDDM was finalised and the memory table is too small to support Aero and other advanced features that came with Vista.  So WDDM drivers are not available.

You have two choices: -

1. Try the XP drivers (XPDM) which should work but will not support Aero and other advanced features.  You can find the Original XP Preinstalled drivers on the Support Pages for your model.  For example, here is the Support downloads page for the VGN-FS315B - but check for your exact model: -

2. Go back to XP for which there is graphics support from Intel.
