PCG-FR415M

Hi

I have a PCG-FR415M that is about 3years old. I wanted to know if there is a wireless card that is compatible with it. I'm moving into a new flat and its wireless enabled while I used to use cables. I looked on the vaio accessories page but couldn't find anything.

Thanks for your help

Sara

Assuming you have either (or both) a PCMCIA slot or a USB slot then you can buy a wirelss card/adapter for either.

If your laptop does not have USB2 then a PCMCIA may serve you better speed wise, although plain USB may cope admirably with the throughput of wireless.

As to brands - I would stick with a well known brand such as Belkin or Netgear.

I have in the past used Netgear PCMCIA cards on former laptops and they worked fine.

Hi Sara and welcome to Club VAIO.

There are LOTS OF WIRELESS CARDS and most of them are compatible with your Vaio.

I think I would try to find out what make of wireless transmitter is installed in your new flat and buy a card compatible with that. But in theory any wireless 54Mbps b/g card should work but ask other users.

EDIT: Sorry William - you are too quick for me!!

No worries - Valid point about asking flatmates!
