Playing CD Player (capacity 300 CD's) through Vaio PCV-V1/G

I would be grateful to learn if and how it would be possible to play my Sony CDP-CX355 Mega Store CD Player through my Desk Top. I think I have connected the wires in correctly, but I cannot get any sound out of the speakers.
Which program do I need to load and are there any settings I have to adjust ?
Thank you to anyone able to help.
Harry

Does your desktop have analogue-in?

Also check the line-in isn't muted in volume control.

Thanks DaveT for replying.
The sockets on the top left are coloured Red, White and Yellow.
and the white and yellow plugs from the CD Mega Store fit.
They are labeled ' L ' and ' R '. The third Yellow is marked
' Video '
If these are the 'analogue-in' sockets, which I assume they are,
I think I need to activate some software to actually enable me to hear the music. What software do I need to activate ?

I hope to hear from you again

im not too sure with your desktop but im sure w/my pcv-w1 those inputs are only for the video in on gigapocket, ill try them out in a bit to make sure...

but you could try plugging it all in, opening gigapocket and switching to video channel(if you have tv card and gigapocket)...

Hello guitarkid

IT WORKS !!!!!

Thank you so much. I could have had a few extra hours sleep last night if I knew it would be that simple.

Whats a CD Mega Store?

there the massive cd changers i believe, i think sony do a 100, 300 and whopping 500 disc one...

being an audiophile im dead against them as you lose sound quality for convenience...

but some people would be against getting up every 40 mins to change disc...

glad it works....
