HI EVERYONE,
IV REALLY HIT A BRICK WALL WITH THIS ONE.. LETS BEGIN..
I AM USING A SONY VAIO VGN-N31Z (VISTA HOME PREMIUM) LAPTOP AND I AM EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS USING USB RECORDING EQUIPMENT.. I ACCEPT THAT THE 'STEREO-MIX' FUNCTION WILL NOT BE ENABLED NO MATTER WHAT YOU ADJUST TO THE SETTINGS IN WINDOWS BECAUSE THERE ARE CONFLICTS BETWEEN THE LAPTOP AND THE BUILT-IN REALTEK SOUNDCARD (THIS, I HAVE MANAGED TO GET OVER..)
HOWEVER WHEN USING ANY EXTERNAL USB RECORDING DEVICE (BE IT A USB AUDIO INTERFACE, USB MICROPHONE..) IT FINDS IT AND INSTALLS IT OK DISPLAYING IT AS AN AUDIO INPUT DEVICE IN WINDOWS CONTROL PANEL, AND THEN WHEN IT COMES TO RECORDING THERE IS NO SIGNAL COMING THROUGH.. WHY IS THIS? CAN ANYBODY TELL ME?? IT IS NOT READING THE INPUT SIGNAL FOR SOME STRANGE REASON.. AND OF COURSE THERE ARE NO FAULTS WITH THE AUDIO DEVICES I AM USING AS THEY HAVE WORKED ON MY OTHER PC'S.. IT IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL AND SONY HAVE NOT PRODUCED A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM..THEY ARE BEATING AROUND THE BUSH! TRYING TO BLAME IT ON SOFTWARE, WHEN IT WON'T FUNCTION IN THE MOST BASIC OF APPLICATIONS> WINDOWS!
MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE,
IESTYN HALBORG
