Hi, I haven't posted very many times on here, but last time around I posted I received lots of help, so thanks to all those who replied to me.
Anyway, my VAIO has been playing up recently, it has been running extremely slowly and often errors appear which are related to the graphics card (in this case an ATi Mobility Radeon 9700). It also blue screens lots usually around startup and just restarts itself or shuts down, however if the graphics card is disabled the computer runs fine (albeit without full screen resolution and with poor graphics). I would like to know if anyone has had this problem and if they have had any dealings with Sony regarding it.
It seems to be an acknowledged problem as Sony have it on their website, see:
http://www.vaio-link.com/hotnews/details_announcement.asp?l=en&nid=S1S2
I'm interested in all of your views on this and any feedback any of you may have.
Thanks,
Matt
PS. I'm in contact with Sony Support about this and am having the laptop sent off tomorrow (though they won't acknowledge it as this problem yet). M
Maybe some other drivers will work. Try reinstalling the drivers.
I personally use the omega drivers which are very good. It even lets me play Doom III on my S1XP.
You can download them from: http://www.omegadrivers.net/
I always update as soon as they release new ones.
Thanks, I'll give that a go at some point
