Processor

Hi everyone i have just got a new sony notebook (VGN-NR21E/S) its great but its running slower than i would like and it only has a 1.6 ghz intel pentium dual core processor. Im thinking about replacing the processor can anybody give me any suggestions or some compatible processors? thanks Graeme

Hi Graeme and welcome,

I would leave it until your warranty ends as Sony do not do 'upgrades' and you will invalidate your warranty.

Your T2330 is a Dual Core processor using Socket P and I think your chipset will support a 800MHz FSB so an upgrade is possible.

However, it will be quite costly and I personally doubt if it will be worth it. To get a 2.2GHz or higher processor like the T7500 or the T7800 could cost £400 plus fitting.
