hi,i've VGN-NR21S i bought it nearly one year ago, it worked perfectly until few days ago when the screen go black, sometimes it comes back to normal with a message "Display Driver nvlddmkm Stopped Responding and Has Recovered" or i have a blue screen and my pc reboot.
i tried to delet/install the nvidia driver but still the same, to get it work i've deleted my nvidia driver, i know it not advised
by the way i have a nvidia geforce 8400M so i'm asking is it a compatibility problem with vista or is there something odd with my graphic card ??
anyone ?
If you have overclocked then undo it.
if you have maxed your ram take a stick out.
don't forget
Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel.
Start
Windows Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs
search for “NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers” or “NVIDIA Display Drivers” and select remove.
DO NOT over install!
try THIS driver
i didn't overlock it nor have i boosted my ram
and before the problem apears i had even never changed my driver
and i always erase nvidia display driver
i will try your driver
it says that my hardware isn't compatible
do you know what card you have, i guessed as i know overclocked forceware ones were pulling that error.
nvidia geforce 8400M and over one year using it i never had a problem
are you running XP or vista? did they update just before the problem?
have you tried something as simple as a system restore?
