Radeon Mobility 9000 and The Sims 2

Hi,

I have a GRV616S and lately I have been experiencing some problems with the video game "The Sims 2". More precisely, special event scenes do not display correctly : the images freeze or flash and I can only listen to the associated sound. The graphic card drivers are up to date though.

Can anyone tell me about a way to solve this problem ?

Thanks !

I think the game is too RAM intensive for your model.

It probably is too RAM-intensive for your computer, however it should still run without corruption. Go to the Sims 2 website forum where you will get more specific support from other players, we are more about the computers themselves than the games you would run on them.

I tend to agree with Kee-Lo,

I think your pushing it to run on your machine!

The difference between for e.g. the 9000 and 9200 is quite a lot. The 9000 is really a Direct X 7.x based card and i think the Sims 2 needs at least a Driect X 8.x based card!

Sorry

It needs DirectX 9.0c (The latest version). If you have that already then try the forum on www.thesims2.com, as your graphics card is on the supported list.
