Re-boot / Unfreeze problems

Last week I purchased a brand new VGCM1 P4 Multimedia centre (VAIO). When on the internet the system has frozen a couple of times and I can't release the website or close down AOL by using Cntl+Alt+delete, like I could on my last laptop, nor is there a pinhole size rebotter on the side of the keyboard (which you can insert a thin object to reboot the system).

I can't find any instructions on how to re-boot from the keyboard on this new hardware or unfreeze software problems.

Could you help? I've had to resort to pulling the plug out at the mains to shut it off and re-start again. However, I feel that this could damage the system if done too often.

Hi Sunny

Welcome to the Forum:smileygrin:

You can download a manual for you machine at Vaio-Link.

You can also get any updates that are available on the same site.

Have you got the latest anti spyware? Check out Ad-Aware and Spybot for the free stuff.

I'd personally dump AOL but make sure it isn't conflicting with your anti virus software.

Make sure you pick up the latest CD when you're in Woolworths or Comet too, they update AOL often.

IT'S THE DAMN AOL THAT'S CAUSING YOU THE FREEZING.I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY LAST PC AND AS SOON AS MY CONTRACT WITH AOL EXPIRED I DUMPDED THEM.ALL THE UPDATES AND ALL THE PHONE CALLS I HAD WITH AOL DIDN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM SO MY ADVICE GO WITH A GOOD ISP IF YOU CAN DUMP AOL.
POST A MESSAGE IF YOU SOLVED IT AS I AM CURIOUS SINCE I HAVE TRIED A LOT OF ARTIFACTS..
HAVE FUN WITH YOUR NEW VAIO

Yes AOL are not the best in the world, though they are very rich you'd expect better (specially as they have Time-Warner behind them)
